Mardi Gras Parade 2010 @ Sydney
NB> THERE ARE NO MORE VACANCIES FOR MARCHING WITH PFLAG> REGISTERED MARCHERS MUST MEET IN HYDE PARK PRIOR TO 5.30pm PFLAG will have a contingent in the 2010 Mardi Gras Parade.

Members and walkers will be meeting in Hyde Park near the corner of Elizabeth and Park Streets from 4 pm. Walk in on the diagonal path from the corner. We meet under a huge tree, which is directly across Elizabeth Street from the Pacific Power building. If you would like to bring some nibblies to share, that would be great. We are planning to have a utility, so there will be limited seating for those financial PFLAG members unable to walk. Please advise us if you are a financial PFLAG member and are unable to walk.

You will be required to obtain a wrist-band from the PFLAG committee in Hyde Park prior to the Parade. We won’t know until immediately before the Parade where our utility and contingent will be assembling, so we usually walk from Hyde Park in a group to meet up with our transport.

For those wishing to march in the PFLAG contingent, the following conditions will apply:

- All potential marchers must register by email, through the website or by contacting us on the infoline (02 92941002).
- Marchers must wear a white T-shirt with dark-coloured trousers or skirt. The dress code will be strictly adhered to. If you have a PFLAG T-shirt or cap please wear them. If you have a rainbow umbrella, please bring it along.
- Marchers must purchase and wear a PFLAG badge. These can be obtained for $3 each or 2 for $5 at the PFLAG stall at Fair Day or from a committee member in Hyde Park on the day.
- For safety reasons, no alcohol can be consumed either in the marshalling area or whilst in the march. Please note, there can be no alcohol carried or stored on the ute/float. Intoxicated people will be excluded from the PFLAG contingent.
- For safety reasons, no small children or strollers will be allowed.

Fair Day @ Victoria Park, Camperdown.
Fair Day is a family fun day full of entertainment, food, fashion and stalls. Lots to see, do, buy and eat! It is traditionally the Mardi Gras season’s biggest day-time event. Each year dedicated PFLAG people set up the stall early on the Sunday morning. Official starting time is 10 am, when we spend time chatting to our many visitors, giving out information, brochures and booklets, selling our rainbow merchandise, having a good look around, generally having a fun time, and then packing up about 4 pm.

This year, we will have for sale our new fold-up umbrellas, kites, neck lanyards, PFLAG badges, all in rainbow colours and our DVD “Bouncing Castle”.
The SEIKO Coutura Alarm Chronograph, kindly donated by SEIKO Australia Pty. Ltd. will be our raffle prize. Raffle tickets are $2 each, $5/3 or $10/7
Helpers are very welcome and essential!
Fair Day is also a major fund-raising opportunity for us. Come for a couple of hours or for the day and enjoy the camaraderie, and the chance to talk about PFLAG.

This year we need people power to help set up the stall early on the Sunday morning (say 8.30 am – the parking is usually pretty good at that time) and also to help dismantle the stall about 3.30-4 pm.
